Storage Account : Data Protection for ADLS + Hierarchical Namespace

All,

Any idea when the Data Protection will be available for ADLS Hierarchical namespace? I'm not referring to the Lifecycle management option that is available at the Storage Account level.

As per the document, "Note that not all features are available at this time for storage accounts with a hierarchical namespace enabled."

Thanks,
grajee

Hello @grajee,

Thanks for the question and using MS Q&A platform.

Yes, as per the document, not all features are available at this time for storage accounts with a hierarchical namespace enabled.

While creating a Azure Storage account with a hierarchical namespace enabled, you will find only soft delete for containers/files under data protection options.

As of today, it only support soft delete for containers/files for the storage accounts with a hierarchical namespace enabled.

An increasing number of Blob storage features now work with accounts that have a hierarchical namespace. For a complete list, see Blob Storage features available in Azure Data Lake Storage Gen2.

Hope this will help. Please let us know if any further queries.
