What happens to the local Windows 10 user profile, when Azure AD associate is removed from the computer?

We have a user with a machine that is currently connected to a corporate Azure AD account, and that account is the one their primary desktop profile is associated with.

If we Disconnect the computer from that Azure AD account, will the user still be able to get into that profile? Does it keep a cached version of the user's AD credentials locally so that they can log back in after reboot?

Or does the user need to create a local admin account for themselves, and migrate their data over to that profile by logging into that local account after the machine's association is broken when it's Disconnected from Azure AD?

Hello,

When you joined to Azure AD account, did you joined it from an existing local account or directly joined AAD account while installing Windows?

If you joined it using your local account, then after disconnecting from Azure AD, you can use that local account to sign in.

While if you joined AAD directly with no other local account present, you must create a new local account before disconnecting your system from Azure AD. You can then continue using that local account after disconnecting from AAD.

Hope this helps!
