vs2019 Package Manager Console Ignores Keys if Cursor is not in the right place

Package Manager Console has become very frustrating, as I realize that if I try to type, paste, or anything, all keystrokes seem to be ignored unless I figure out where the cursor is supposed to be, and move it there. This also happens if I use the arrow keys to move the cursor. It also has a habit of ignoring Ctrl-V, unless I hit enter about 5 times, but if I try to type, and then paste, it ignores Ctrl-V again. So I have to hit the up arrow to get to the command where the paste worked, and type everything at the beginning. Am I the only one experiencing trouble, what can I do, is there a setting somewhere?

I'd like it to stop tracking the cursor position and just type/paste where it's supposed to.

Hi, @DanChase-2429

Welcome to Microsoft Q&A!

I can't reproduce your problem on my side, can you upload some videos to troubleshoot the issue.

Sincerely,
Peng

Hi Peng,

How interesting, this was on my office computer. When I tried it on this computer, nothing went wrong at all.

This makes me think it's something wrong with my visual studio installation. It was behaving pretty badly! I spent 30 minutes try to copy paste something from the editor into it.

Sorry, I guess if it's something wrong with the install, we should close it until I have a better clue.. But it's not the first time it's done it, it's always annoyed me, it's just that the other day, it went completely bezerker on me, and I felt fed up.

Thanks!
Dan Chase
