I get the error, "Sorry, we can't sync this folder Youre already syncing a shortcut to a folder from this shared library."

I was synchronizing to a SharePoint document library and it stopped synchronizing. I deleted the folder from my PC and tried to resync to the library, but got the error message, "Sorry, we can't sync this folder You're already syncing a shortcut to a folder from this shared library."
I checked in OneDrive/Settings/Account and the library is not listed.
I found a OneDrive shortcut in c:/windoes/WinSxS/ and deleted that as well - No luck.
I opened OneDrive online and could not find the "chained" folder in My Files. (I could not find My Files, just Documents).
Could someone please help me find the offending shortcut?

    @Christopher Gillespie

    You should go to your modern OneDrive site to delete the "chained" folder shortcut.

    Go to the SharePoint document library -> Click App launcher in the upper left corner -> OneDrive -> My Files -> Delete the "chained" folder shortcut.

    Thanks @Emily Du-MSFT but the folder shortcut - or a higher or lower level folder to the one I am wanting to sync - isn't visible (I can see other synced folders just not one that would conflict with what I am trying to sync).

    Any further suggestions? Particularly, is there any other way to investigate what folders might be syncing that I am not aware of?

    Yours David

    Hi, I had the very same issue and was running out of ideas after I tried everything listed here above.
    The last thing what I tried was to unlinking my device from my OneDrive (logging out of OD) --> restarting my device --> logging back to my OneDrive and establishing sync connection with desired folder/files from scratch. It helped and it working again.
    Hope it helps.
