SQL SERVER 2019 resource locked and ram utilization still constant

Migrated from Sql Server 2016 to 2019 after migration with the increasing load sql server is blocking the resources and ram utilization is not increasing but CPU is going to 100% but in 2016 same procedure/query increased the ram usage upto 80% but in 2019 it is not going more than 10% and deadlocks are happening. This is causing serious deadlocks to happen.

Hi @HassanNaeem-3589,

Did the same procedure/query cause deadlock after migrated from SQL server 2016 to SQL server 2019? If I misunderstood, please let me know.

To resolve SQL server deadlock issue, we can follow below steps.

•Check the system_health session for deadlocks
•Create an extended event session to capture the deadlocks
•Analyze the deadlock reports and graphs to figure out the problem
•If it is possible to make improvements or changing the queries involved in the deadlock

Refer to the blog How to resolve deadlocks in SQL Server to get more information.
