Access to files and folders if the Owner of the subscription changes

Currently my Office 365 account is owned by a colleague at my company, he is the Program Manager and has 5 seats in Office 365, I use one of those seats. That seat is linked to my personal email address at msn.com, not my company email at futroninc.com. The project I am on will end early next year and my employment with this company will likely end. I want to keep my msn.com link to Office 365 and pick up the annual payment myself. In other words, I don't want to remain as one of the 5 seats owned by my colleague. I want to own my own Office 365 account but keep files and folders.
Another detail that may be important. I have two Office 365 accounts linked to two different email addresses: <name>@futroninc.com and <name>@Luxsparks .com. The former has almost nothing in it and to be honest, I am not sure how it got created. The latter is the account I use as I described in the first paragraph where all the files are linked to my personal email. If there is a number I could call to discuss this it would be easier to resolve, I think.
