User can change their two-step verification method and settings on their own by following these steps:
- Sign in to the My Apps portal.
- Select your account name in the top right, then select profile.
- Select Security info Or click on following link https://mysignins.microsoft.com/security-info which would take you directly to Security info page, if user already have registered for MFA earlier then they need to complete MFA verification by either of these methods authenticator app , phone call or security code and then click on change Phone number.
- Type in New phone
- verification code would be sent to new phone number.
- Upon successful SMS verification, user would see below confirmation.
Note:
If user lost access to their phone due to which they could not login to portal then only admin can change the phone number on behalf of users.
