Outlook account setup using Azure AD P1 license

Hi All,

I have decided to sign up for Azure and I am planning to purchase Azure AD P1 subscription for application proxy purpose. I see that outlook is part of the Azure AD P1 subscription. I don't plan to sync on premise directory(Google identity service) with Azure and will be creating user accounts in Azure portal separately with the same domain. For example, abc@example.com in both on premise and on Azure.

Could I setup outlook accounts for these users to access emails?

Please let me know if this possible and if you have any further questions.

Azure AD P1 does not include either Outlook (the desktop Office app) not Exchange Online (hosted email), not sure where you're getting this information from. Some of the "bundle" SKUs might include both Azure AD P1 and Office/Exchange, but definitely not the standalone AAD P1 SKU. In case you are looking at the EMS bundle, it does have the "EXCHANGE_S_FOUNDATION" plan, but that's "complimentary" service that enables some synchronization scenarios, not an actual mailbox functionality.

If you do have the corresponding Exchange Online license to provision mailboxes for those users and a valid Office license, then yes, you can use Outlook to access mail for those users.
