What does this Script Error mean ?

Dear Commnity,

I am facing this Weird issue that some times when a user re-authenticates through Firewall he/she gets this error while connecting outlook. The uuser has click on yes to proceed.

Here is the error:

Why is the user getting this error?

This looks like an issue with an unsupported browser. Is this system still running Internet Explorer 11 as the default browser? If so, I would recommend upgrading to Microsoft Edge, set it as the default, and then try again.

Does this problem occur when you connecting to Outlook for web or Outlook client? If it is outlook client, does this problem occur when connecting to other office programs when authenticating?
And do others users encounter the same problem?

According to your description, I noticed that the user has click on yes to proceed. Can the user successfully connect to outlook client after clicking yes to continue? If yes, agree with pvanberlo, the issue may be related to the default browser.

If you are using the Internet Explorer, please go to IE> Tools> Internet Options> Advanced…, check "Disable script debugging (Internet Explorer)"and "Disable script debugging (Other)", and uncheck "Display a notification about every script error." Then do the same test to check if there're any differences.

If the above is invalid or you are using other browser, it's suggested that you could try to change the default browser to check if you can connect to Outlook normally.

Other users are having this issue when they chnage password of their system , Yes they are not using Internet Explorer infact we all are using widnows 10 with pdate chrome Browser in our organization.

Considering the issue occurs when they change password of their system, it's suggested that you could update the password of your email account. In addition, clearing the browser cache will also avoid some errors.

If the above doen't work, please provide more information about the follwoing question for our better research:

  • Does this problem occur when you connecting to Outlook for web or Outlook client? If it is outlook client, does this problem occur when connecting to other office programs when authenticating?

  • Is there any difference when changing the default browser?

  • Can the user successfully connect to outlook client after clicking yes to continue?

Our Outlook is connected with Active directory ,users have same password for both outlook and domain Id. It only happens on Outlook App, When user log back into their Systems after password change, and they try logging to outlook App then this issue occurs.

I am having the same issue and tried the below steps

Already same as mentioned below

check "Disable script debugging (Internet Explorer)"and "Disable script debugging (Other)", and uncheck "Display a notification about every script error."

uncheck Enable third party browser extensions option.

Reboot System but all vain.
