Are documents and sample code relating to writing an SQL EKM provider DLL available?

I found a question https://social.msdn.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/8f28c849-de59-4684-afa3-c707070096db/ekm-provider-dll-entrypoints.

In this post the questioner is asking about how to drive entry points in an SQL EKM provider DLL that they are writing.

An answer is provided that contains the following "If you are interested in writing EKM provider DLL reference. I would suggest you to contact Aliceku (alice.kupcik@microsoft.com). She has the related documents and sample code etc."

I've tried contacting Alice but my mail got returned by the MS post master. This doesn't surprise me. I suppose Alice will have moved on.

I'm really itching to get hold on a guide on how to write an EKM provider DLL. Does anyone know where I might find such a guide?

Hi @JnXs-0572,

Quote from this similar thread.

Microsoft doesn't make the EKM spec public.

You can ask help at Github, may be you can get an answer there.

Thanks @cathyji-msft.

I saw that post which is why I decided to raise the question on MSDN.

I'll certainly follow up on your suggestion to ask at GitHub.

I also wonder if there is a way to get any non-public information from Microsoft maybe in exchange for a fee and or by signing an NDA?

Are there any updates on this?

GitHub did not provide any useful information and it would be enough to get a contact from MS where to place the request or sign an NDA to get this specification.
