Confusion about site storage on SharePoint

I'm new to SharePoint. Created a new site for the organization and started to upload our data to the site.

When I checked the SharePoint Admin Center's "Active Site", it's showing XXX GB used of 1.55TB

However, when I checked the "Storage Metrics" in the site, it's showing "25600.00 GB free of 25600.00 GB"

So how come my site's storage limit is only 1.55 TB , and why is it not using the 25 TB available space?

The "xxx GB used of xxx TB" message under Active sites in SharePoint admin center suggests the available storage corresponding to your current subscription, which is 1.55TB in your scenario. If you need more storage in this tenant, you will need to add storage space for your subscription.

Storage Metrics under Site settings indicated the maximum of storage for this site is 25 TB, which is a limit in SharePoint Online you need to know. This number does not necessarily reflect the actual storage this site has used when it is nowhere near the limit.

    Quoting this document:

SharePoint resets all the limits to 25 TB (25600 GB). (Note that the total storage for your organization might be less than 25 TB.)
