How to verify that Update for IDOR vulnerability in System Center Operations Manager (KB5006871) is installed successfully

142492-patch.pngHello Experts,

I am trying to install Update for IDOR vulnerability in System Center Operations Manager (KB5006871) .Below is the steps i made.

1) the pre-reqs which is update roll up 10 was already installed.
2) I simply ran the KB on the webconsole servers from elevated command .

But the time taken was less than 5 seconds and i could not verify whether it is installed or not .the KB was not listed in the Installed update folder and when i searched for the KB registry HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Component Based Servicing\Packages\
the state was 0x00000001
and the installed value is REG_SZ with value 20211019 which i do not understand It's reference .(screenshot attached)

How can i verify that KB installed successfully ? and are the references of these numbers do they mean successful or unsuccessful ?

Hi,

the easiest way would be to check the Application event log on your SCOM console server. An Information Event with the ID 1036 from the source msinstaller is logged on scuccessfull installation.
