Again a feature which was working totally fine got removed exclusive for the Teams Linux client only!!! Who can explain this to me?

At present, we get no reason for removing Reply feature. No official document explains this. We will try to figure out the cause and I'll let you know if anything turns up.
During the update and maintenance process of products, it will have some alterations which might bring users inconvenience and confusion. Same for me. It worked flawlessly and out of a sudden, it wasn't available anymore. The same happened with inline Emojis when typing a "(". Suddenly stopped working.
I reinstalled teams entirely on my Ubuntu 18.04 machine but that dind't work unfortunately.

I have exactly the same problem. It was working and now it is not working, such a must-have feature.
I am using Fedora release 34.

Same here. The reply button just vanished.
Also, the packages are outdated on https://packages.microsoft.com/repos/ms-teams/pool/main/t/teams/
Just microsoft good will can fix this...

This feature is back now. You should quit the Teams app and relaunch it. I recheck it in my client as below:

The reply feature came back last week but disapeared again this morning :-(
