What does the error message "This query should be recompiled with the hinted DOPP. Please resubmit." in Synapse Serverless mean?

Error message in title. I changed the definition and underlying data for a openrowset view (Serverless pool), and a view referencing this view started producing this error. Same error appears when running the query in the view. I tried rebuilding the views but that did not fix the error. What can I do to fix this error?

Could you please let me know the following details:

Is this the first time you are observing this issue for this same query? Are you also observing the same issue when running any other query?

Are you using any client tool such as SSMS? It would be interesting to evaluate if your query is failing in both Synapse Studio and SSMS.

Are you running this query against the built-in master database or any other serverless pool that you have created?

Could you please share the query statement that you are running so I can have more context on the use case

Yes, first time.

Same issue with SSMS, Data Studio and Synapse studio

Built in pool, created database (not master)

Cannot share, fairly complicated query. Basically a Fact view that joins to Dimension views to lookup surrogate keys. So something like:
SELECT *
FROM
OPENROWSET (...)
LEFT JOIN dbo.DimCustomer
ON ...
LEFT JOIN dbo.DimSector
ON..

Would be easier if you could find out what the error message means?

The issue seems to have disappeared now. I would like to know if this is a bug or if there is something I can do if I recounter the issue?
