conditional access through custom controls

We are looking to add our Authenticator as a custom, 3rd party authenticator to Azure AD as opposed to adding an App to the marketplace. So that customers can use our product to configure multi-factor authentication to Azure AD on top of the existing authentication solutions (such as the Microsoft Authenticator, Yubi key , etc).

What should be the process in this case?

We understood that that there was a preview for this capability using custom controls, but seems like there is a new preview for a new capability now, as described here:
https://techcommunity.microsoft.com/t5/azure-active-directory-identity/upcoming-changes-to-custom-controls/ba-p/1144696 .

We are looking to join this preview.

From the UserVoice item on this:

We evaluate and qualify a curated list of providers who can develop custom controls for Azure AD. You can email "Custom authentication factors onboarding <cafo@microsoft.com>" to add your organization in the waiting list.

Currently we have this capability in preview mode and we have a lot of great feedback from customers on improvements to be made here. Hence the preview is currently closed to new partners.

However, we are actively working on a plan to incorporate feedback and also create a scalable process to onboard more partners.
