SSPR not working

Hi

We have configured SSPR in our environment and it works for 95% of machines.

There are a number of machines however that when users click on the reset password option the screen says please wait and then it loops back to log in screen again.

We raised a support ticket with Microsoft and they have suggested group policy issues however we have other machines getting the same policies and they work just fine.

Does any one know what could causer such an event to occur? Has anyone seen this behaviour before?

Hi @DanielBirell-1740,

Sorry to hear that this issue hasn't been resolved with support.

Are there any errors that show up in the machine event logs when the loop gets triggered? It would be helpful to see if the logs are reporting anything for this.

I would recommend visiting the SSPR troubleshooting guide as well.

There might be an issue with a timeout, connection, or writeback feature but it's hard to tell without knowing more details about the machines. Are there any other notable differences between the 5% and the 95%?

I know that in some cases a loop can also occur if you use ADFS and MFA when outside access already needs second factor.
