With the following Grub4dos menu.lst:
find --set-root --ignore-floppies /Win2019Core.vhd
map --top --mem /Win2019Core.vhd (hd0)
When used from an USB key containing a 15GB .VHD: OK NO PROBLEM
loading in RAM is fast
booting from RAM is fast
BUT, when used (via PXE->iPXE->PXE) from an iSCSI target containing the same 15GB .VHD:
loading in RAM is slow (OK that's "normal" because of network access)
booting from RAM is also slow: I mean the time it takes to reach the Desktop is about 1 minute :
SO NOT OK! WHY: How to explain this behaviour and, in this case, how to speed up the boot from RAM/the time it takes to reach the Desktop.
Thanks for helping!
