I don't now what the 2 icons above the ribbon are doing in that spot

Some icons are pictures and some are words
Before I had everything in icons
Address should be document location

I have a backup of the Toolbar customiziations, so I imported the Excel.OfficeUI but it's not working
I also copied in an new book.xltx

Any idea, why this is happening?

Thanks in advance.

    Hi @sab-f ,
    Welcome to Q&A forum!

As DougRobbins said, this is the "new experience" that are "coming soon" for Microsoft 365 for Apps. Please try to modify the following registry key to cancel the application of this new experience:

Go to Computer\HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Office\16.0\Common\ExperimentConfigs\ExternalFeatureOverrides\excel, change the following three key values to false.

    • Microsoft.Office.UXPlatform.FluentSVRefresh
    • Microsoft.Office.UXPlatform.FluentSVRibbonOptionsMenu
    • Microsoft.Office.UXPlatform.RibbonTouchOptimization

The same operation also applies to Word (Computer\HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Office\16.0\Common\ExperimentConfigs\ExternalFeatureOverrides\word) and other Office apps.

Hope the information is helpfu to you. Any updates, please let me know.

It's the "new experience" of features that are "coming soon" under Windows 11. In a subscription version, at this time, the "new experience" is option. In your case as your ribbon does not include the "Upcoming Features. Try it Now" trumpet at the top right of the Title Bar, you have them whether you like it on not.

You might also note that you no longer have the Ribbon Display Options button on the Title Bar

They have been moved to the arrow indicated in yellow
