    Hello,

Please check the 'known issues' for Windows 10 Version 2004 here:

    https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/release-information/status-windows-10-2004

If an active issue is not relevant for you, it is safe to upgrade.

    Regards.

    Hi,

    @Rayansh Chauhan
Is it being offered when you check via Windows Update?
If you are performing a manual Windows Update check and it just states, "You're up to date," then you have not been selected yet as part of the initial rollout or it's blocked due to a hardware or driver conflict.

As far as I know, 2004 update is blocked in place because of various compatibility issues with numerous systems and hardware configurations.

If you’ve received the banner, here is what you can do for Windows Update to show the feature update available notification:

    1. Update your hardware drivers
    2. Disable Core Isolation by going to Settings > Windows Security > Open Windows Security > Devie Security > Core isolation details.
    3. Keep checking Windows 10 2004 release information page for mitigations and resolutions for Known issues.

Also, the update assistant can help you update to the latest version:
    https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/software-download/windows10
Before using the steps to perform a manual update, you should first consult the Windows 10 2004 Health Dashboard and make sure there are no known issues blocking the update.

Hope above information can help you.

    Good day,

Assuming that you speak about Windows 10 version 2004, also known as the Windows 10 May 2020 Update, then this is public released which should be safe to used in theory, but any update and any change in the machine can lead to unexpected result!

For example, you might have a third party application which will be impact by this change in unexpected way. Microsoft cannot guarantee you hat this will not happen.

You should always test your specific scenario in QC or Development environment first.

In general, for most cases, it should be safe. It is HIGHLY recommended to use the automatic update and NOT to manage the updates manually (for most users).
