Start up delay on reboot/resume

Hello all!

I've done quite a bit of reading on the subject, but have yet to find something that fits my situation.

When rebooting, I have a significant delay when the window splash comes up but before the swirly dots show up.

Once its moved to the swirlys its only a few seconds to the login screen. But while its on the splash I see the HDD indicator dimly lit indicating rapid but short duration access for the entire time which is upwards of a minute or 2.

I have a Crucial MX500 1TB SATA SSD, Phenom II x6 1100T on a MSI MS-7596 mobo with Corsair Vengeance DDR3 16GB running 21h1. No errors in the log, SSD diagnostics and SMART indicate no faults, and performance is stellar once booted.

This only started happening after the update about 2-3 months ago. At first I thought it may be related to enhanced storage, but not too sure. I have not tried the in place upgrade with an ISO as I currently do not have a reliable means of attaching an optical drive, I may be able to boot a USB stick, but not sure.

Any ideas? thanks!
