Windows 11 Adjust date and time asking for Admin Creds

I upgraded a few devices in my domain to Windows 11. Everything going well so far but one complaint I got is that they are not able to change the timezone. When they right click the date and select "Adjust Date and Time" it asks for Admin creds which doesnt happen on Windows 10 devices. Is there a change we need to make?

NB: Users are not allowed to change time, only the timezone change is allowed.

AFAIK permissions for changing time hasn't changed in Windows 11. On Windows 10 only admins can change the time (as this has an impact on a lot of things) but timezone a normal user can (for whatever reasons).

To change the policies you'll need to change the GPO for this. Since you're on a domain you should be able to do this at the domain level. Go to Computer Configuration\Windows Settings\Security Settings\Local Policies\User Rights Assignment. Find the Change the system time right and assign the appropriate user groups to that right. Users in that group can then change the system time as well. Note that you will likely need to force a GPO update (gupdate /force) to get it applies otherwise you have to wait for the GPO refresh to occur naturally.

If you're only seeing this on some machines then check your GPO rules as GPO rules can be applied at the machine or user level.

but what if we are not in a domain.

My son is an admin on his own computer but he can not change the timezone.
It says you must be an administrator. but does not ask for a login or password. and teh timezone area is greyed out.
