Hi @ChidanandaA-2492

It recommends you build up a new SFB Server pool running on Windows 2019, and then migrate the users to it. When you install Skype for Business 2015 in Windows 2019, please make sure Skype for Business Cumulative Update 9 or later. For more details, you can refer to:

https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/skypeforbusiness/plan-your-deployment/requirements-for-your-environment/server-requirements#operating-systems-for-skype-for-business-server-2015

Thanks Jimmy, for your kind attention and providing the information.

I have gone through that document; however I didn’t find specific info as such which says a fresh installation is the recommended or suggested process. Yes, it does talks about installing SFB 2015 on 2019 Server OS with Cumulative Update 9 or later. Could you please help me to understand why you have come to the above conclusion?

Hi @ChidanandaA-2492

Yes, the conclusion is not from the document provided. The official document is not provided the detailed steps about how to upgrade the Skype for Business OS. But I have met the customer who asked the same question before. He followed the above suggestions and succeed.

Considering the In-place upgrade may affect the Skype for Business Server, we still recommend you build a new server and migrate the user to the new server.

Thanks again :) building a new server is going to take some time for sure, is there any process i can adopt where i can reduce the whole effort needed to build server manually?
