We are seeing intermittent slow response to DNS queries from Microsoft DNS servers running Active Directory.
This is a VM and resource utilization is normal.
There is no trace of any packet loss.
Sometimes it takes 3-4 seconds for response to a DNS record from a locally hosted zone.
Total DNS queries per seconds is between 12k-15K
some blog post on DNS performance tuning suggested to set the UDP receive thread count to 8
VM has 16 core and hence we would like to see the option to update the property UdpRecvThreadCount and its value to 8 if that helps
We have not found DWORD under KEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Ser-vices\DNS\Parameters regkey.
Looking forward to get some suggestion that can help fix this issue.
