Hello!
I have a windows server machine, sometimes when I try to log in to the computer with remote desktop I only get a black screen, the CRTL+ALT+END does nothing, and after some time the connection closes. If I open the computer via idrac othing works I cannot move the mouse, the only solution is the hard reboot. In the event viewer I have the following error: "The RDP display control module failed to change the session monitor layout. The operation failed with error code 0xFFFFFFFF."

    @Dominik Erdei

    We were having the same issue and found that the solution was to update the local Security policy on the server:

    gpupdate /force and log out.

    Log in with the problem account.

    This should then log in and display the desktop successfully.

    Hope that helps.

    You may need this out of band update.
