I want to turn off McAfee and turn on Windows Defender? I have turned McAfee off but cannot turn on Defender as it tells me I have a different application installed. Not sure what to try next?

Make sure disable all the McAfee features:

after turning off, Windows Security would automatically notify you to turn on firewall and device security, or search Windows Security in the search bar, start Windows security and follow its instruction to activate.
