Edge browser stop scrolling after double clicking text

When browsing edge, it stop scrolling after double click or select some text.
I have repair and reinstall the browser but it don't change

Based on your description, I tried this in Edge ( Version 97.0.1072.55 and Windows 10 20H2) and tried to reproduce the problem, but it failed. Here is the test image.

So to better understanding the issue, I want to confirm the following things with you:

  1. What is the version of Edge and OS where this issue occurs?

  2. Does the issue only occur in specific websites?

  3. Does this issue also occur in Chrome?

If you can provide more relevant details, it will help to solve the problem. For example an image of the relevant example operation (like I showed above). Thank you for understanding.

My Edge version is 97.0.1072.55 (Official build) (64-bit)
Windows 10.0.19042

This occur in every website.
After the scrolling is jammed in a tab, if I open a new tab it works fine unless it gets double click.

Thanks for your reply and these details. It looks like we have the same environment, but we tested again and we still can't reproduce the issue, the scroll function works fine in webpage (whether the text content is selected or not).

I suggest you can try the following methods, it may help you:

  • Disable Microsoft Edge scrolling personality
    1. Launch Edge and type edge://flags in the address bar
    2. Type Microsoft Edge scrolling personality in the search box
    3. Select the feature and disable it

  • Reinstall or update your mouse driver

By the way, does this issue also occur in Chrome, or does it also occur on other computers?
