Can WAC and Orchestrator be on the same server

I have a 2012 R2 dedicated file server, it has DFS installed as well. I am going to use the Storage Migration Service tool to migrate the file server to a new 2019 server. I will test this out first in our isolated DMZ first. However, I am not clear on a couple of things: 1) Can the required WAC piece, and Orchestrator server, both be on the same server (I'm not talking about installing these on the new file server)? I have a utility server that runs Server 2019 (1809) and it would be nice to install WAC and also have that be the orchestrator server for the migration. 2) If I install DFS ahead of time on what will be the new file server, I assume DFS will work after the migration?

Hi there,

DFS Replication does not communicate with File Replication Service (FRS). DFS Replication and FRS can run on the same server at the same time, but they must never be configured to replicate the same folders or subfolders because doing so can cause data loss.

Migration is a three-step process:

-Inventory servers to gather info about their files and configuration.
-Transfer (copy) data from the source servers to the destination servers.
-Cutover to the new servers (optional).

Can the required WAC piece, and Orchestrator server, both be on the same server?
Not sure about this.
