Azure datashare cross private clouds

Hi Guys,

Can we use Azure Data share to send data across multiple private clouds of azure and across multiple management groups/subscription/ resources groups?

As we have ability to share via email, how I prevent from sending to personal email or invalid or unauthorized emailID?

Hello @NavinDondapati,

Thanks for the question and using MS Q&A platform.

Currently, Azure Data Share is only supported in Public and Government cloud today and allows for sharing across tenants, subscriptions, resource groups.

For sharing via email, Azure Data Studio do not prevent sending to personal email as there are use cases for customers with personal email. However, via API, one can specify object ID of the service principal or user and the tenant ID for the recipient. Here is API documentation and more specifically the create invitation details.

Are you sure Azure private cloud does not support data share as I was able to create it, about email. We have two different domains for same company xyz that's xyz/ and xyz1/ and when we are sharing the data via Azure Data share we want to share only with Email with either xyz.com or xyz1.com not with some random company domain like mycompany.com how do we restrict it?

Thanks for getting back and sorry for the delayed response. Can you please help us understand more about what you mean by ‘private cloud’ and how the service was accessed (URL)? Wanted to really understand whether it is just a different scenario of using public cloud. Could it be possible that the two different domains represent different tenants?

Restricting simply by email is not a functionality we have but as mentioned in the thread, tenant ID of the recipient can be specified.
