1.png - Shows 3 avitars. I assume there is only 2 profiles the left most and largest image being the elected profile. the two options seem identical in every way.

My question, how do I remove the excess accounts. so far I have ben unable to select them in 2.png.

Also 2,png shows 3 accounts total. are these all necessary?

    Hello,

In the first image, three pictures represents only account pictures. The largest one is current account picture (DP) and rest two are older DPs. You can clear account picture history using this guide:

In second image, you don't need to perform any action. Leave it as it is.

    Hope this helps!

    Hi,
1.Whenever you change your account picture from Settings > User accounts > Your Info, Windows displays thumbnails of the three most recent images It also stores every account picture you’ve ever used.
Open up File Explorer and find the location below:
    C:\Users\<Username>\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Windows\AccountPictures
Delete the picture. It will remove those old thumbnails.
2.HomeGroupUser$ is a built-in account for homegroup access to a computer, it is a common system account.
This always happens for Microsoft Account. One shows information basic information (which only includes group information) and another with full information including the permissions, the full user name and description.
You can open "Change PC settings"\Network\Homegroup, then leave the homegroup, after that, run netplwiz to launch all the account, then there will be only one account in the prompted box.
It is a default behavior for homegroup users.
    Best Regards,
    Carl
