Why Can't I Edit my Profile?

I have made several attempts to update my profile without success. I did upload my avatar/picture, and it shows up. But I cannot add my email preference and country/region. When I click Save, nothing happens.

Does the lighter blue "Save" button mean that the button is not active? The "Save" button in the Personal info section is a darker blue.

I was unable to ask this question the last two days. Today I could not do any of the following: Ask a question, post a comment, edit my profile settings, sign out, or access the list of feedback posts. I always see my avatar, can view my profile settings and activities, and view posts.

Until just now, when I attempted to ask a question the error message said "Unable to execute your request". The url of the message ended with "/answers/static/csrfAttackDetected.html". Hopefully that is a clue to my problem.

+1. I got the csrf attack related errors today. I had to rewrite the comments. Hopefully they fix this soon.

Richard, I also got "Unable to execute your request" several times yesterday and again just now a few times (so I'm having to retype my reply) I opened a case for this as well. QnA is some subset of docs.microsoft.com and the profiles we use are for all of docs.microsoft.com so you might want to start a new issue here about profile.

Dave, I just reported my profile settings issue at the link you provided. Thanks.
I know the same contact email address in my MSA works, since I got a reply from MicrosoftDocs acknowledging receipt of my feedback.
Also, for an hour or so I have again been unable to post comments.

Yes, that's correct. If I even change one char then the Save button turns dark blue. Also email notifications have been broken for several days now. Known issue but not known when it will be fixed.

Same posting problems here, multiple tries to get it posted.

Today I was able to update my profile settings. I finally specified my email preference. I don't know what changed. I closed the feedback I submitted on MicrosoftDocs.

@RichardMueller-8175 I just have one question.
Is your E-Mail Account part of a Company Licence ? or do you own it privately?
If your part of a Company or your licences are given by your company, you can edit your Data or personal information only if it's approved or if you got the privilege to do so.

Otherwise, you can change that information here:
https://account.microsoft.com/

Or click on" My Microsoft Account" and then under your name on the left side you will find the link whit the description "further actions" if you click on that you can edit all your private information online.

I hope, I can help you whit that.

Fryvanlee,
The email address I was attempting to enter as my email preference is my own that I have used for many years. In fact, when I move the insertion point to the email field, the GUI suggests the correct email address and country/region (undoubtedly retrieved from my Microsoft account, my MSA). I simply select it and the values are filled in. But the "Save" button remains a lighter blue and nothing happens when I click "Save".

When I click the link you provided, the information for my MSA is already correct. The email address I want is labeled "Your email for Microsoft communications".
