copy paste is not working

Hi All,

we have policy configured the App protection policy in Intune for Android and iOS. Under the Data Protection setting for "Restrict cut, copy, and paste between other apps" set to "Policy managed apps with paste in" however user are unable to paste the information from one managed app to another managed app. Is there any help can be given to solve this problem. I have putted one application in exemption list but still not working.

Policy requirement is that end user must be able to do copy paste the data within managed apps.

@RakeshKumar-2842, Thanks for posting in our Q&A. Based as I know, for app protection policy to apply, the app needs to be Microsoft Intune protected apps.
https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/mem/intune/apps/apps-supported-intune-apps

For our issue, please check the following information to see if it can fix our issue:
1. Check if the two apps are both included in Microsoft Intune protected apps. If not, we need to use Intune App Software Development Kit (SDK) or the App Wrapping Tool to make it can apply app protection policy.
2. Could you confirm if we add both apps in app protection policy apps? Could you let us know what are the two affected app?
3. Could you let us know if is is not working on both Android and iOS?
4. Try to collect the log mentioned in the following link on local device to see if the policy is applied and if there's any other finding:
https://techcommunity.microsoft.com/t5/intune-customer-success/support-tip-troubleshooting-intune-app-protection-policy-using/ba-p/330372

Hope it can help.

@Crystal-MSFT ,
Please see my answers below.

  1. Check if the two apps are both included in Microsoft Intune protected apps. If not, we need to use Intune App Software Development Kit (SDK) or the App Wrapping Tool to make it can apply app protection policy. <<Rakesh>> I can't see the application name in list as per link given by you for supported intune apps. Application name is SafeNet MobilePASS+

  2. Could you confirm if we add both apps in app protection policy apps? Could you let us know what are the two affected app? <<Rakesh>> we are still identifying the list of application we have an issue with, however currently we are facing issue with SafeNet MobilePASS+ as we are unable to paste information from Outlook to it.

  3. Could you let us know if is is not working on both Android and iOS? <<Rakesh>> we did only check with Andriod but today we are going to check with iOS and i'll update you about result.

  4. Try to collect the log mentioned in the following link on local device to see if the policy is applied and if there's any other finding: <<Rakesh>> Today we have scheduled troubleshooting activity with one of end user and i'll share the result with you.

@RakeshKumar-2842, Thanks for the information. After checking, we find the application SafeNet MobilePASS is not in the Intune protected app list. That means app protection policy is not available to the app. And it will not consider it as managed app. For this situation, you can consider to use the Microsoft Intune App Wrapping Tool for Android to change the behavior of the Android apps by restricting features of the app And see if it can help. Here is the link for the reference:

@Crystal-MSFT ,

we have fixed the issue by putting mobilepass+ application in exempt list then after we completely removed it and replaced it with Azure MFA. now everything is working fine. we are using safenet as alternate solution for VPN MFA as we were having issue with Azure MFA for Fortinet VPN client
