Is it possible to scale up Azure App Service Plan SKU during an ongoing Azure Reservation?

Hello dear MS-community,

I was thinking about reserving a specific Azure App-Service-Plan SKU for a duration of three years and a simple but yet crucial question came up to my mind: What if the SKU that I selected for reservation is not enough at some point within the 3-year-timeline and I'd need to scale up the SKU. What happens with the Azure Reservation then? Does the SKU which I'd reserved at first run as usual and the additional SKU increase costs the usual list price?

Let's become a bit more specific:
1.) I'm planning to go for an Azure Reservation for this specfic App Service SKU for a duration of three years.

2.) And how does the Azure Reservation behave if I'd need to upscale to the next SKU at some point (let's say in 1,5 years)?

I'd be glad if someone could describe further how the Azure Reservations exactly behave in these kind of situations as the MS-Docs aren't clear enough about it.

The Azure reservation is fixed to the SKU size that you choose at the time of taking it out and fixed for the duration of the term chosen so ideally you want to determine the correct size first.

You do have the option to exchange your reservation for a new size however so long as it is of higher value, please note this will start a new 1 or 3 year commitment term. So in other words you can increase the SKU size and exchange the reservation of the new size also.

Please note, if you want to scale up your App Service Plan then you can do so at any time, just note this would mean that your new App Service Plan will be charged at the normal pay-per-hour pricing model and you will also still be charged for the original Azure reservation commitment but for testing purposes this might be of interest.
