Update of windows 10 1803 failed many times

My Windows update has the message "Your version of Windows has reached end of service. We recommend you update to the most recent version of Windows 10 to get the latest features and security improvements".
I have windows 10 version 1803.

I have run the update many, many times (from my computer and from the instructions given in this site). No matter how I do it, my computer always crashes when restarting. It is really annoying.
What else can I do?
Thanks,
Carmen

Up to 10 attachments (including images) can be used with a maximum of 3.0 MiB each and 30.0 MiB total.

You're not alone, I have a machine that also hangs after the install reboot, and then reverts back to the original version.
No published solutions I've tried (and I've tried many) work.
It'll be a trash it and clean install eventually.

There are 4 broad options:

1) Troubleshoot > this can take substantial time and a fix may not be found

2) Backup files to another drive or the cloud > perform a clean install

3) Perform a Windows refresh or reset > reinstall drivers and applications

4) Purchase third party software to move applications and perform a clean install

Running setupdiag may or may not provide more insight about the failure:
