azure migrate physical server

hi team,

i am looking to migrate my physical servers to azure. as per https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/azure/site-recovery/vmware-physical-azure-support-matrix#storage, Raid are not supported.

however, normally most of the physical servers disks will be configured with RAID.

does anyone has input on the above? or have confronted this scenario before?

thank you always for the support

thanks @SadiqhAhmed-MSFT but what i wanted to know is the following:

when the matrix refers to RAID is not supported, i know that on azure RAID is not available but i want to know if i can migrate or replicate physicals servers that are using Disks configured under RAID or the replication will fail?

If you are using Azure Migrate, I recommend you perform a test migration.

As mentioned earlier the scenario isn't supported as of today. We can have this forum open for other community members to share their experience.

@eg1995-5273 Thank you for your post!

RAID is not supported by ASR as of now. And there are no plans to support it in the near future.
Am afraid to say 'No' workaround available with us currently.

RAID is designed to limit/mitigate hardware failures and controlled by a RAID controller (HW). Azure uses Software defined storage so you no longer control physical storage.

I believe at ASR migration the RAID is lost and resiliency is now determined by the storage type you select.
