Hi, I hope you all are doing well. I have question and looking forward if you can help me.

I'm having an issue on start/stop vm v1. Its failing to start/stop the vm.

Based on the logs, it's looking for ARM VM but it can't see. The VM is there, the name of the resource group is the same as my VM im not so sure if this is the problem.

Note: the verbose is not shown on error.

Below is the LOGS i collected:

@AndreiTopias-9518 Welcome to Microsoft Q & A Community Forum. I understand you are using Start \Stop VM v1 version in order to start or stop your virtual machines. Before we fix this issue with version (v1), I would like you to know about the next version, which is in preview right now. This new version (v2) offers all the same functionality as this one, but is designed to take advantage of newer technology in Azure. It adds some of the commonly requested features from customers, such as multi-subscription support from a single Start/Stop instance. Kindly note Start/Stop VMs during off-hours (v1) will deprecate on 5/21/2022.

Can you please provide information

  • Is the solution recently set up or you are facing the issue with already set up solution ?

  • While initiating the Start\Stop VM solution, have you checked if the target resource groups has the list of vm's you plan to start or stop ?

I would also suggest you go through this document on troubleshooting the start\stop vm solution which might help to find the cause of the error.
