Can i do an in place upgrade of Azure AD Connect 1.6.16.0 to 2.0.91.0 on a Windows server 2019 with SQl 2012 express running? Will it upgrade to SQL 2019 express?

So I am currently running Azure AD Connect 1.6.16.0 on a Windows 2019 server with SQL 2012 express. My question is can I just do an in place upgrade to the newest version 2.0.,91.0 and it will change the SQL express to 2019 during the upgrade or will that have to happen differently. There is nothing else running on the server.
