Relaunch Notification not working?

We have the setting "Update policy override default" set to "Updates disabled" because we are using MEMCM/SUP for Edge patch management. Can we still use the setting "Notify a user that a browser restart is recommended or required for pending updates" or is this only applicable when using the Edge Update Service over the internet ?

I wonder since the description for the setting says that when not configured its supposed to: Microsoft Edge adds a recycle icon at the far right of the top menu bar to prompt users to restart the browser to apply the update.

Never seen this happen on any of our clients.

Based on your description, I found the following description in the Update policy override documentation:

Updates disabled: Updates are never applied.

This means that all updates will not be applied, so I think Edge might not be updating correctly. What is your current Edge version?

We are on version 98.0.1108.56 and using Stable Channel, updates are only pushed once a month by our automatic deployment rule so we are always a bit behind the official release cadence.

We are using the Install-Edge.ps1 script and setting the -DoAutoUpdate "False" from there.

Well, I didn't test this. Judging from your test results, my personal opinion is that these should be two unrelated update systems. Only when you use Edge's built-in update method to update it online, the restart selection will be displayed. Otherwise, using MEMCM/SUP to manage the version of Edge, the user will always start the Edge that has been reinstalled.
