What happens if two different versions of management servers are assigned in MMA settings

Hi,

Can someone help me what happens if we assign two different versions of Management servers assigned to monitor a server in SCOM? There is SCOM 2016 and SCOM 2019 Management servers assigned in MMA settings. Did the monitored server responds to both the management servers are it will report to only anyone of the server? Agent installed using SCOM 2016.

It will report to both, that's called "multi homing" the agent.
It's also the normal way of doing a side by side migration : attach the agent to old and new management group, and when the new mangement group goes into production your remove the old one.

If newly bulit server comes in different domain, is it possible to do the monitoring with SCOM 2016 Management Server Agent which is in some other domain.

Scenario here is like the server added under monitoring is now responds in 2019 only but not communicating with 2016 server.

Hi @ DhilipKumarMathivanan-2685,

if the other SCOM instance the agent reports to is in a different Kerberos realm (different domain) and there is no trust (leverage Kerberos), then you need to use certificate based authentication for all the agents, reporting to the second management group. This makes the whole scenario a bizt more complicated thoiugh.
I hope I was able to answer you questions.
