SCCM Audio and I/O Drivers do not install after Imaging

Hello,

I am using SCCM to setup a task sequence that we run to image all of our company computers. I have loaded the drivers into SCCM for each specific device and I have created the individual driver packages. We are imaging HP Probook 440 G8s among others. I am using the 21H2 image, and I have created the task sequence and it is in the correct order that we have used in the past. I can successfully complete the image process but when the computer comes on, the audio and touchpad do not work because the drivers are not installed although they appear in the SCCM Drivers list. I have to then download HP support assistant to get the drivers onto the computer.

Any advice out there? I have read a multitude of sources on this and I have had no luck.

Thank you!

    Hi @Ian Simon

I would advise you to examine the SMSTS.log, setuperr.log, and setupact.log to find details about Apply Driver Package step failure prompt to troubleshoot OSD-related problems.

Validate whether the boot image is upgraded to the latest installed SCCM version. It’s important to update the boot images.

At a high level, the process involves the following steps make sure you have done this right.

-Create a new package that contains all of the required drivers for this hardware type
-Add an “Apply driver package” task to the task sequence with a WMI filter based on the model type
-If required configure the “Apply driver package” to apply a Mass Storage driver
-Create an application for each driver that must be installed
-Add all applications to the task sequence with a WMI filter based on the model type.

Here is a thread as well that discusses the same issue and you can try out some troubleshooting steps from this and see if that helps you to sort the Issue.

    Hope this resolves your Query!!
