Need help recovering access to Azure AD tenant

Hello,

I'm an Azure novice, trying to set up an 'App' so we can use social sign-in with MS accounts, and I messed up yesterday and have managed to lose access to an Azure AD tenant. I still have the username/password, but Azure (and the Partner portal) no longer recognise that account. The steps (some of them no doubt stupid) I've taken are:

  1. (A while back) created an account to manage O365 subscriptions (T1/domainA.onmicrosoft.com) - I didn't register a custom domain at this time

  2. Registered an app for development in Azure AD (all good so far)

  3. Signed up for an MPN ID at the partner centre using a proper email address at our domain (this created a new Azure AD tenant unrelated to the old one - T2/domainB.onmicrosoft.com)

  4. Added a new directory (T2D2) to the Azure AD in T2 (why? Ignorance more than anything else)

  5. Made that new directory in T2 the default directory

  6. Registered an app in T2D2

  7. Verified our domain in T2D2, but the domain was already attached to T2D1

  8. Did a 'Force Takeover' to merge the two directories as there wasn't "anything" in the other one

I think that last step was the big mistake. Now neither Azure, nor the Partner Portal recognise my username. Luckily I still had an active session in the Partner Portal, so was able to associate T1 with the Partner account and grant access to another couple of user accounts so we still have access to the partner account. That's what I should have done at the beginning, but like I said, I'm a novice on the MS platforms (more a *nix guy).

Now I can move things forward if I could just use T1 for my app, but I can't register the custom domain with T1 because Azure says I need to delete it from T2 first, and I can no longer access T2.

Is there a way to either:

(a) Persuade Azure to let me login to T2? Or
(b) Forcibly reclaim our domain from T2? Or
(c) Forcibly delete T2? (I assume this would require support)

All advice gratefully received!

@TonySmith-2325 ,
We are sorry that you have to face this inconvenience. As you have mentioned that you are new to azure , let me check this internally and find the best possible solution for you in this case.
