Hi, I've signed up for an Azure for Students subscription but on the sponsorship page, it says "Sponsorship is not active", yet I'm able to create resources using the 100 USD credits. On my past student subscription, it displayed "Active - Offer expires in X days" in the same place.
Will I be billed for this despite having no payment methods attached? It's the same institution but this email has a different subdomain. Thanks.

I have the same issue as @Chris-4625. I can create some kind of resources with my Azure for students suscription, but I can't create a Virtual Machine. B1s instance type included in free lyer is disabled in Size combobox at new VM form.
I supose the reason is the "Sponsorship is not active" we see in the Sponsorship portal, but why is not active?

If you are sure "Sponsorship is not active" you can either wait for sometime for the status to refresh or contact support to get an update on the same.
Just to isolate the issue, try creating a new VM with different VM size. If it works, then it could region constraints or capacity constraints that blocking you to create B1s instance.
I used to be able to guide my students to create their account and request their credits, but now they are all stuck in "Sponsorship is not active" and even after some hours, none of them is able to use their Azure account.
In our case, they are all using the same domain, and even until last semester it used to work fine.
Any ideas?
Suggest you to reach out to Azure subscription management team by raising a support request.

As you have mentioned, you have been using Azure for student sponsorship subscription and able to create resources using the $100 credits. However, the newly created subscription that has email with different subdomain is not active yet.
You might want to check if there was an email notification received for subscription re-activation. If yes, you will be able to continue using Azure for student for another one year.
