Opening files in protected view crashes office application

We have had issues where if you open files (for us it was .csv files) in Protected View/Mode in Office 365, the application would hang/crash.

We found a solution at least for Office 365 or M365 Apps.

Build 1908 crashes but when we upgrade to 2002, the issue is resolved.

I put this out here because there's an old post on Technet where others were having the same issue.

I hope this helps someone else so that they don't have to go through all of the troubleshooting we did.
