How do I create a child domain with different FQDN from the root?

I want to create a child domain with a totally different FQDN using DNS namespace disjoint.
How do I configure this?
My root domain is abc.local and my child domain should be xyz.com
Please help.
My environment is 2016 Server.

Hi,

By default ,when you create a child domain ,the child domain name will be child.abc.com. This DNS zone name will used for AD communication
However. It's possible to create a additional DNS zone xyz.com integrated active directory, and add it in the list of UPN suffix:

Once the UPN suffix added , user can use his new UPN username@xyz.com to login.
