We use States 1 - Enforcement states for a deployment report to get data related how many machines are patched

However this report doesnt update automatically

if some clients failed to install the patch they stay in failed even if we fix the issue and the patches are installed.

It seems like the Last Enforcement State and Message Time is not update very often

How can we force these to update so that we have correct reports

What is the best way to get most up to date report for the enforcement

we have CM 2002

Are your update deployments configured to send "All Messages"? This is not the default when creating update deployments manually or using an ADR.

    Hi,

Thank you for coming Microsoft Q&A forum.

1.As Jason mentioned, please help check which Detail level you have specified in the update deployment settings, All messages, only error messages or Only success and error messages? This will specify the level of detail for the state messages that clients report to the site.

2.Also we could examine the Updatesdeployment.log and Statemessage.log files on the client. By interpreting the state messages in these logs, we can get a clear picture of what is occurring at the various steps in the process. Refer to:
    State messages in Configuration Manager

    Thanks for your time.

    Best regards,
    Simon

The state message sdo show up for the first time , but the problem is if the deployment failed,. I am not sure when the next state message is to be sent .
i have been waiting and istill see around 70 clients who have not updated the Last enforcemnet message and time for 5 days now.

slowly the number seem to o down though and more and more clients update the data

State messages are sent every 15 minutes assuming the client has connectivity to the MP (directly or via a CMG). If you aren't getting state messages from specific clients, they most likely aren't connected.
