Server 2012 R2 DHCP to Server 2019 Migration

Dear Friends,

I am really confused about DHCP migration.

Now we have two old DC servers on 2012 R2 servers, both is running DHCP, they are replicated to each other. Is there a Master DHCP server?

Now I would like set up new server 2019 and transfer FSMO role to the new box. SHould I set up a DHCP replica on server 2019? And remove DHCP one by one on old Server 2012 R2? or I should back up DHCP, and set up a new DHCP service on the server 2019 and import to DHCP?

Thanks a lot,
ML

Yes, sounds good, you could also export beforehand (for backup) and before beginning the work.

To be in safe side, I will do cutover migration: Export and Import.

So I should:

Break failover with 2nd SRV 2012R2. (keep conf in 1st SRV2012r2)
Build failover between 1st 2012R2 and 1 2019
Break failover between 2019 and 2012R2. (keep conf in 2019)
Build failover between both 2019 servers.

So, should I just keep building fail over and cut the replica?

Thanks

That's what I would do, yes.
