Point to Site Connected but not able to RDP VMs

Hi All

I have created a Virtual Network named hub 10.0.0.0/16
subnet named sn110.0.0.0/24
GatewaySubnet 10.0.1.0/24
virtual machines
VM1 - 10.0.0.4
VM2 - 10.0.0.5

I have configured SSTP Point to Site with Address Range 172.16.0.0/16 and able to connect to VPN successfully and got an IP 172.16.0.2186447-1.png

My Network security group allowing RDP from any to any 186455-nsg.png

I tried to RDP the VM with private IP but I cant succeed though the connection troubleshoot of the VM is showing no issue.186488-3.png

  1. I can connect to VPN

  2. My NSG not blocking

  3. Connection troubleshoot not showing any error

What could be possible issue. ( I turn off Firewall in serves as well)

@AvinashVeeravalli-1112 Thank you for reaching out to Microsoft Q&A. I understand that you are unable to connect to your VM via RDP via P2S VPN even after allowing it in NSG.

Can you please answer the following?

  • What is the error when trying to RDP?

  • Does the VM show any errors?

  • Can you connect on any other port/protocol?

  • Can you stop/start and try connecting?

Thank you!

@AvinashVeeravalli-1112 Please refer to these documents for Troubleshooting P2S connections in the meanwhile.

  1. Troubleshooting: Azure point-to-site connection problems

Please check for below in the meanwhile:

  • Does your local firewall allow this traffic to the VM on the RDP port?

  • Please confirm the error message that you are getting when RDP fails.

  • Confirm the status of the VM and if it shows any errors.

Please let us know if you have any further questions and we will be glad to assist you further. Thank you!
