Setting up lab environment on Hyper V multi-subnets using pfsense

This is for my lab environment and my end goal here to make it conceptually work. This is NOT how it will be implemented in prod.

My current home network set up: ATT Modem - DHCPv4 Start Address 192.168.1.64 - DHCPv4 End Address 192.168.1.253. I have ASUS wireless router infront of ATT Modem, ASUS range 192.168.2.2 to 192.168.2.254. My end goal is to create two hyper v instances on two different subnets that are able to communicate with each other. All this is done on a single laptop with Wifi.

I have been reading that pfSense can be used to create multiple subnets so that the two servers in 2 different subnets can talk. BTW there 2 hyper V servers are on Windows. I have the VM's installed , pfsense installed on a hyper v. I am completely lost where do i take from here. I went through pfsense documentation but I just cannot get an IP on WAN.

Can someone please guide me here? I am N/W novice so please provide details. Appreciate the response.

Another option may be to stand up a windows VM with RASS role to route between networks.

A virtual machine can have almost any number of vEthernet adapters.

Ok thanks. I was able to set up 2019 Windows Routing server, where do I take it from here? I am only able to ping the server on one subnet. Below is the IP set up if that helps.

I'd check the route.
tracert 8.8.8.8
Also check that the domain controller and all members have the static address of DC listed for DNS and no others such as router or public DNS.

Hello @DSPatrick . While playing with vnet adapters I completely messed up the environment, after hours of struggle I was able to put it back to gether. Internet is intermittent on the VM's which is weird, we will tackle that in a bit. Though I can ping from 192.168.2.224 to 10.0.1.1 and vice versa, I need to be able to communicate via TCP/IP over port 1433 ( default port of sql server), how do I open the ports such that all the servers are able to communicate over 1433 ?
