Windows Server 2012 R2 msxml 6 install.

Hi,

As Microsoft XML Parser and Microsoft XML Core Services (MSXML) 4.0 is detected, and it suggested me to upgrade it to msxml 6.0.

I didn't find the upgrade guide for Windows Server 2012 R2.

Can I uninstall the msxml 4.0 in "Program and Features", and then install 6.0?

Where is the msxml 6.0 install package for Windows Server 2012 R2?

Thanks,

Darcy

MSXML 3.0 and 6.0 are built-in Windows Vista and later
MSXML 4.0 (KB2758694) can still be installed
all versions co-exist, they are not in-place upgrade for each other

Hi,

Thanks a lot for your response.
Actually, there is msxml6.dll under C:\Windows\System32.
Does that mean I only need uninstall MSXML 4.0 (KB2758694)?

Yes
but make sure no other program need it (did you install it yourself? or some program install it?)

I didn't install it. Our app doesn't use it, I will uninstall it.
Thanks a lot for your answer.

You can confirm the versions here.
