upgrade to Windows 10 from 8.1

Cannot upgrade from Windows 8.1 to 10. security (AVG) uninstalled, restarted. plenty of memory. Updated and updates turned off

Thanks for the advice. This is what I found to work.

Search: TroubleShoot on Your Computer

This will open a Trouble Shoot Window.

Select Windows Update and it will “Fix”

I then Downloaded Windows 10 to a Thumb Drive and Ran it from there. Upgraded no problem, no lost files. As Always, Backup To Be Safe

I hope this helps, I know it was a very frustrating process for me.
