Azure migration

Hypothetical question, how does moving from on prem to Azure for your IT estate, change your traditional support model - i.e. Service desk, Infrastructure Management - what changes must you make to align with the Azure model?

Hello @JohnCross-3425,

Thank you for reaching out to the Microsoft Q&A platform. Happy to answer your question.

Taking a holistic approach will not only help you navigate the journey successfully but also help ensure that your organisation realises new benefits—including efficiency, agility and scale—once your workloads are running in the cloud.
Microsoft recommends using the Microsoft Cloud Adoption Framework for Azure, a proven methodology for planning and implementing your cloud migration, as well as governing, managing and optimising your cloud and hybrid environments. It provides best practices, documentation and tools that cloud architects, IT professionals and business decision makers need to successfully achieve their short- and long-term objectives.

I would suggest you to understand your current environment readiness for azure by using different services available in azure for migration of your on-premises tools.
For majority of VMs/Physical Servers, you can use azure migrate service to replicate and migrate the workloads and for webapps, Visit Azure Migrate for a central hub of Azure migration tools for almost any use case.
